The Story

An orange grove, a Pacific root, and a quiet evening.

Our family wanted a bottled kava drink we could share without preparing traditional kava each evening. We make Signature Citrus in Orlando with noble kava root extract and orange juice.

The result is bright on the front, smooth through the middle, and finishes with that familiar earthy note that kava drinkers know by heart. It works as a shot, as a mixer, or sipped slowly on its own.

Most people stick with the shot. The mixer crowd swears by pineapple juice. The patient ones sip it neat after dinner.

01 · The Shot

Straight, 44ml

Shake the bottle and measure one chilled 1.5 oz pour. Have water or juice alongside it if you like. Follow the serving directions below.

02 · The Mixer

With pineapple or citrus

One shot over ice, top with pineapple, orange, or grapefruit juice. The Signature's orange notes lean into citrus mixers without fighting them.

03 · Neat

Sipped slowly

Measure one 1.5 oz serving into a small glass and sip at your own pace. Keep track of the measured serving even when drinking slowly.

One 44ml pour is a serving, and there are 17 in every bottle, about $2.64 each.

We send our kava to an independent lab and publish the results. The March 2026 report from MBL in Colorado tested a bottle of Signature Citrus and measured 296 mg of kavalactones per 1.5 oz pour. Our label states 300 mg. Reports are not yet matched to every production lot.

Disappointing Product and Lack of Customer Support I purchased Kava Moon hoping for a relaxing experience, but unfortunately, the product did not work for me and caused stomach discomfort. I was unable to finish the bottle and ultimately had to throw it away. What makes this experience even more disappointing is the company’s no-return policy and lack of customer support. I reached out to the company by email to explain my concerns and share my experience, but I have yet to receive a response. I understand that products affect everyone differently, but I expect a company to acknowledge customer concerns and provide some level of support, especially when someone has an unpleasant experience with their product. Unfortunately, the lack of communication has left me with a negative impression of the company. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Kava Moon.

I have tried a few kava drinks and have had the best results with Kava Moon. I have a subscription. My only suggestion would be to i corperate ginger flavor. The orange is good but ginger just seems to go well with kava. Maybe a ginger lime flavor. Flavor aside I enjoy Kava Moon very much.

Bright orange on the front, smooth through the middle, earthy on the finish. It's noticeably easier to drink than traditional kava tea but still has that signature root character. Most first-timers describe it as "kava, but actually pleasant."

One 44ml shot is a serving, with 300mg of kavalactones, and most people find one is plenty. Follow the serving on the label. If you have a second, wait at least an hour, and stop at two in a night.

The 750ml bottle holds about 17 shots. If you have one most evenings, that's roughly two weeks. Once opened, refrigerate and finish within 30 days for the best flavor.

We don't recommend it. Kava and alcohol both affect the liver and the central nervous system, and combining them isn't worth the stack. If you're using kava as an alcohol alternative, give it a chance to do its own thing.
