Where it began
We had already traded our evening drinks for kava. What we couldn’t find was a bottle worth pouring.
Here’s how a nightly bowl turned into a family business, and why every bottle has its numbers on the label.
How it started
Three problems with the old way.
-
01
The nightly bowl
Kneading root powder through a strainer bag every night, a bowl that tasted like pure earth, and cup after cup before it felt like you'd had anything at all.
-
02
The hard sell
Hand a friend who has never tried kava a bowl of muddy water and a speech about tradition, and you can watch the enthusiasm leave the room.
-
03
The empty shelf
So we went looking for bottled kava drinks. Plenty of pretty bottles, not much in them: most were underdosed and overpriced, few published lab results, and some didn't even say how many kavalactones you were getting.
We wanted something we could bring to a party, pour for a friend who had never tried kava, and not have to knead ourselves every single night.
The Kava Moon family
So we made it
A kava drink built on numbers, not mystery.
We made it ourselves, in Orlando, Florida: 300 mg of kavalactones in every 1.5 oz pour, printed on the label, with our third-party lab testing results published for anyone to read. Strong enough to be worth it, and priced so you can actually share it.
That’s Kava Moon: the bottle we needed the whole time.
Taste what we made: 17 full-strength pours in a bottle, about $2.64 each.
Family-owned since 2023
Made by a family in Orlando.
Kava Moon isn’t a corporate venture. It’s our family business: one of us runs the company, two of us run production, and one helps pack the orders.
We mix, fill and seal every bottle ourselves, here in Orlando, and every one that leaves carries our name.
What we stand for
-
Numbers on the label
300 mg of kavalactones in every 1.5 oz pour, printed where you can see it, and lab results anyone can read.
-
Respect for the root
Kava has been shared across the Pacific for 3,000 years. We use only noble kava and try to do that history justice.
-
Made to share
Easy to pour, easy to mix and easy to hand to a friend. That was the whole point.
From root to bottle
How a bottle gets made.
- 1
Noble kava root
From the Pacific. Root only, never stems or leaves.
- 2
Checked by a lab
We send our kava to an independent lab and publish the results.
- 3
Mixed in Orlando
In small batches, in our own facility. Signature gets orange juice; Pure Canvas stays plain.
- 4
Filled hot and sealed
We fill each bottle hot and seal it right away, so it keeps on the shelf until you open it.
- 5
To your door
Order by 2 PM Eastern and it ships the same day.
Our promise
You should know exactly what you’re pouring.
No mystery, no fine print. Here is what goes into every bottle, and where to check it.
-
Third-party lab tested
We send our kava to an independent lab and publish the results, kavalactones included.
-
Noble kava only
The varieties Pacific growers have chosen for everyday drinking for generations.
-
Root only
Kava root extract, never stems or leaves.
-
A few simple ingredients
Signature is pretty much kava and orange juice, plus a couple of preservatives to keep it fresh. Pure Canvas skips the juice.
